The short history of the domain passion of a woman it drome provencale

Audrey Chauvin’s domain called “passion d’une femme” is a small domain in the south of the department “Drôme Provençal” situated in a small village called “La Roche St. Secret” near the Lance mountain (1 300 m) where the Préalpes start. Right in the middle of the Aeria Valley our family farm is a typical southern farmhouse with stone …..and a arched cellar transformed into a wine cellar.

The domain is surrounded by lavender, vineyards, fruit trees and oak trees on the roots of which truffles grow. This landscape shows a large palette of colours changing at each season. This makes it very attractive to all nature loving people. With its vineyards on the hillside the grapes profit of a late micro climate and of an altitude which provides all the energy necessary for sweaty grapes and flavoured wine based on a good quality and his freshness.
Smitten with family traditions and liberties, I took over the farm from my father which is in our possession for generations.
I grew up in the middle of my ancestral roots, admiring the work of humans and especially my father, supported by my mother. Regarding my father working the land with love woke up in me passion and desire to continue the traditions.
The inconvenience being a woman in a mans business world wasn’t a very easy task.
Fortunately, the desire for success was still stronger and turned into an advantage.
A feminine and sensible touch brings originality to the farm and to my products.
In 2005 I took over the family farm; I vinify my first red vintage.
Finding opportunities and surrounded by people with the same passion, I continue my work with enthusiasm, love and care.
If you love what you are doing, the product is nothing else than delight to be sampled and shared.
In my second year of vinification, I developed the range of wines: 2 red (one sweetie/ fruity wine and one aged in oaken tuns.
A white and a “rosé” complete the range.
For my 3rd year of vinification there will be a late wine harvest for the red wine: a wine full of fragrance and grace.
Finally, a large range of wine full of savour and colours like mother nature which surrounds us and gives us life.

The choice of the bottle
Through the range of my wines, I wanted to share with you the passion for my region, my profession, the flavour, the colour ……. constantly creating and surprising by the originality of my last creation, a late red wine harvest with one of my friend, a graphic artist, we were working on the lay out of the bottle.
- With a capital A symbolizing my first name Audrey, and the values like “Amour” (love), “Amitié” (friendship), “Authenticité” (authenticity).
- With very coloured labels reflecting my region with his fabulous mixture of violet and blue like the “lavender”, grapes and oranges, red, yellow with the fruits, the apricots, honey and finally a palette of green colours with the oak trees on the roots which truffles grows, the vineyards and nature.
- And finally, dreamers are seeing a sensual curve of an elegant woman.
